A closer look at : Doomed Witches

To help you have a better idea of the teams Big O is bringing to the playoffs table this season, the Big O news desk offer our collective insights.

The coach: Coming from England and having set base in New Zealand, JapeNZ is one of prominent  elf coaches from the Big O. His preference clearly goes to Dark Elves and anyone would be hard pressed to tell him he's playing them wrong.
Known for his aggressive style of play, Jape has been blitzing and annoying his Big O comrades with Sidestep for three seasons now. Two of which have now seen him reaching the playoffs : after reaching Round of 16 for season 8, a lot of eyes are locked on him for season 9.
If you still need convincing, just have a peek at his roster. Coming out among the best players of the Big O after a full season in Division 1 with a roster like this cannot be all due to the "lucker noob" approach.

The teamDoomed Witches were created by Jape with a rather "intense" play style in mind, which would explain the choice of team name. They nonetheless reach this season's playoffs with a roster of 12 players for 2460TV. Seven of them coming with Blodge and only three carrying niggles (3 "Deezs" aka -MA). If you love Elves, his roster will melt your heart; if you hate them, it'll turn your stomach.
With a glorious band such as these, it  is always difficult to pick a single piece to put forward. The sharp eye of Rodder spotted Althriorn the 7358 Blodgestep Leap Strip Ball Blitzer, and we're not foolish enough to go against Rodder.

The season: For his first season in Division 1, Jape had to face some hardened veterans. His final card speaks volume : 9-1-3 with a +11TD difference for 8 points; landing him the second spot for a difference of 2 TD with Deez. Jape's season was definitively solid, despite a couple of late losses costing him what seemed to be a promised first place.
Again, we would be hard pressed to pick one game only from Jape's season. But his week 10 victory over Durteef's Lizardmen 2-1 despite taking 51 blocks would the one of choice. For it sealed his membership among the foremost ranks of the division.

One of the main hopes for the Big O this season, turn an eye on Jape for his game on Sunday 7th 11.30PM UTC against Wedge22's East End Geezers.
