Have you ever wondered how I come up with the ideas for these articles? Well I'm not about to crack it wide open for you, but it does involve 3 team lists. One of these lists is for teams that I want to write full articles on, one is for teams that I either don't want to change or can't think of any changes for, and the third is for teams where I'd like to make small changes not substantial enough to justify a full article.
Today, we're going to take a look at some of the teams on that third list. See if you can catch the theme.
|0-1||Bombardier||6||2||3||7||Stunty, Dodge, Secret Weapon, Bombardier||AP(GS)||40K|
|0-2||Troll||4||5||1||9||Always Hungry, Mighty Blow, Really Stupid, Regeneration, Throw Team-Mate||S(GAP)||110K|
Two small changes for a team of mean green little guys. Giving the Bombardier Pass access on normals is an interesting twist on an old classic. It allows the maniacs to more reliably get skills that make them better at throwing bombs, which in turn increases the unpredictability of bombs because coaches are more likely to use them in a wider array of situations.
The Trolls, on the other hand, are a simple quality of life change. Ditching loner makes them a little more reliable, but they are still Trolls. Really Stupid happens. Always Hungry happens. 1/9 blocks happen. If Flings and Undead can both have lonerless big guys, then so can Goblins!
Halfing Holiday Supper
|0-2||Treeman||2||6||1||10||Mighty Blow, Stand Firm, Strong Arm, Take Root, Thick Skull, Throw Team-Mate, Timber||S(GAP)||120K|
The one good addition from BB2016. Timber is a skill that allows Stunty players to help a Treeman who's fallen down stand up again. For each Fling in an adjacent tacklezone, the tree gets +1 to his standup roll. Of course he still fails on a 1 no matter how much help he gets, but that's Bloodbowl.
Ogre-baring Family Gatherings
This is the simplest change of all. By reducing the cost of rerolls by 10K, the Ogre team can afford more snotlings at the same TV. More snotlings means that opponents get more SPP pinatas, that Ogres get more ammunition and that it'll take longer for the team to inevitably be pitch cleared. It's a win for everyone!
Except for the Snotlings. To be a Snotling is suffering.
Wrapping things up
I hope you enjoyed these small changes and let me know how you feel about them. I tend to deliberately go a little crazy on these articles, but I think all of these proposals are pretty safe.
Happy holidays to everyone, whatever your beliefs, and remember to not be as Ogre-baring as that relative you hate.
